STANDARDIZING PAIN EDUCATION AND IMPROVING PAIN MANAGEMENT FOR THE PUGET SOUND COMMUNITY

Puget Sound Pain Resource Nurse Education Cooperative

The Puget Sound Pain Resource Nurse Education Cooperative (PSPRNEC) was formed in December 2009 to explore ways to standardize pain education and improve overall pain management for the Puget Sound Community.

PSPRNEC, representing 7 area healthcare organizations, presents an annual two-day conference entitled “Pain Management: Meeting the Challenge – Essentials for Nursing in Collaborative Practice”. This educational program presents the core nursing knowledge necessary to deliver safe and effective pain management and serves as a refresher in pain assessment and management for nurses re-entering the work force or transitioning into patient care areas.

The content provided enables nurses to meet pain management care standards recognized and supported by evidence-based best practice recommendations and regulatory requirements.
